Emerge Studio is a design studio for non-profit organizations on and off the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) campus.
While at the studio, multiple interns would be assigned to the same project to provide variations on the same project. The client would then choose the final design they want to use publicly.
The Asian Pacific American Student Success Program (APASS) is an on-campus service catering to the success and support of Asian/Pacific American students.
When designing these logos, I wanted to portray the theme "We will guide you to your goals," like a lantern that guides someone through the darkness.
The CCSF Theatre Arts Department performed "Incognito" by Nick Payne. It presents three seemingly separate storylines, all pulling themes from memory and the brain.
The CCSF Fashion Department wanted us to design a poster for their annual spring fashion show. The theme for that year was Manifesto which resembles a declaration of identity.
I worked with another intern to develop this poster.
The Spring Concert is an annual event on the CCSF campus. This year the concert music was focused on French and Spanish choral music.
The music the conductor chose for this concert felt uplifting and whimsical. The flowers represent notes on sheet music, and the upward movement gives a sense of joy. I wanted to try and bring these feelings into the poster.
The Forum Literary Magazine showcases student work from short stories, poetry, photography, paintings, and sculptures.
Another intern and I worked together to typeset the entire issue. I designed the type hierarchy, and page layouts and she created the cover page utilizing photography featured in the issue.
